What this accessory does
The accessory mounts below a compatible pergola beam or prepared support. Retractable blades can reduce the visual footprint when the fan is off, while the central light provides general illumination. It is not a substitute for task lighting or mechanical cooling.
Best applications
A fan is useful where occupied seating has sufficient protected headroom and planned electrical service.
- Covered villa dining and lounge zones
- Restaurant terraces with adequate clear height
- Hospitality seating protected from direct weather
- Projects planning power before installation
Fan diameter and blade clearance
Use the full operating blade diameter—not the retracted size—to set clearances from beams, louvers, screens, heaters, lights and people. The selected fan documentation governs minimum spacing.
Roof clearance
Confirm that roof movement, water paths and service access remain clear above the fan. A retractable or rotating roof may create moving envelopes that cannot be judged from the fan's closed appearance.
Mounting point
The actual fan weight, drop and bracket determine the prepared support. Do not attach a fan to a decorative cover or unspecified profile without a verified mounting detail.
Power, light and control
Coordinate voltage, isolation, control method and the integrated light with the wider lighting plan. Ambient fan lighting may not replace task or circulation lighting.
Pergola compatibility
Compatibility depends on the verified mounting point, roof movement, clear height, blade sweep, wind exposure, wiring and the fan manufacturer's outdoor-use limits. No universal JY-model compatibility is claimed.
Installation requirements
Confirm the fan model, weight, diameter and drop before approving the pergola layout. Provide a structural mounting point and concealed power route, maintain required clearances and use a qualified electrician for connection and commissioning.
Accessory-specific quote preparation
Information for a pergola fan quotation
The fan must fit the clear internal space and remain outside every moving roof and accessory envelope.
- Pergola model
- Clear internal width
- Clear height
- Preferred fan diameter
- Whether lighting is required
- Power supply
- Roof or beam mounting position
Common questions
Can a ceiling fan be installed under any pergola?+
No. The mounting point, clear height, blade clearance, wiring and outdoor rating must be checked.
Do retractable blades improve clearance?+
They reduce the idle footprint, but the full operating diameter and required clearances still govern planning.
Is the integrated light enough for dining?+
It may provide ambient light; the project may still need additional task or perimeter lighting.
Who connects the fan?+
A qualified local electrician should complete and test the electrical connection.
